Our Purpose

Prayer Baptist Missions International (PBMI) was established on February 14, 1989, with the mission of uniting Bible-believing Independent Baptist churches and like-minded missionaries who share a commitment to evangelizing the lost and establishing Baptist churches worldwide.

God sent His Son to provide salvation for all people. After completing His earthly ministry, Jesus commissioned the local church to reach the uttermost parts of the earth, preaching the Gospel to every creature. As a sending agent, PBMI exists to assist and cooperate with local churches and missionaries in accomplishing this great task.

International missions is an exciting and rewarding ministry, yet it also presents challenges due to the diversity of countries and cultures. In response, PBMI is dedicated to drawing on Biblical principles and practical experience to support missionaries in the work God has called them to do.

Fulfilling the Great Commission by preaching the Gospel is the greatest work a person can undertake. Prayer Baptist Missions International exists to help God’s servants fulfill His will in their calling to missions.

Our Position

We believe in the verbal, plenary, inspiration and infallibility of Scripture. We believe the Word of God is divinely preserved in the King James Bible for English speaking people.

We believe in one God, eternally existing in three persons – the Father, Son and Holy Spirit.

We believe Jesus Christ is eternal and was begotten by the Holy Spirit and born of Mary, a virgin. Jesus is truly God and truly man.

We believe man was created in the image of God. Man sinned, thereby incurring not only physical but spiritual death as well.

We believe Jesus Christ died for our sins as our representative and substitutionary sacrifice. All who believe on Jesus with sorrow and repentance and receives Him are justified on the grounds of His shed blood.

We believe in the bodily resurrection of Jesus, in His ascension into heaven, and in His presence there as our High Priest and Advocate.

We believe in the premillenial, pretribulational, and imminent return of Jesus Christ.

We believe all who receive by faith, Jesus Christ as personal Savior, are born again of the Holy Spirit and thereby become the children of God.

We believe in the bodily resurrection of the just unto everlasting life and in the resurrection of the lost unto everlasting punishment in Hell.

We believe the local church, consisting of born-again, baptized believers, having Christ as its only head, was instituted by God and commissioned by Him to evangelize the world.

We believe Scriptural baptism is the immersion of born again people only; that it is the outward sign of an inward belief. Baptism and the Lord’s Supper are the only ordinances to be observed by the local Church.

Our Practice

Prayer Baptist Missions operates purely as a faith-based mission, upholding the Scriptural principles of faith-promise giving. This means that all of our missionaries—including our director, office staff, and field representatives—are responsible for raising their own support to cover both their living and ministry expenses. Our dedicated office team works diligently to ensure that every dollar received for our missionaries is directed exactly as designated. Unlike some missions, we do not require our missionaries to contribute financially to the home office, although they are welcome to do so if they feel led. This approach allows us to maintain a ministry rooted in faith, integrity, and commitment to the work of the Great Commission.

Our People

We believe God continues to call His people to the great work of world evangelization. At PBMI, we seek servants who are devoted to praying, preaching, and planting churches, with the power of the Holy Spirit clearly evident in their lives.

If God has called you to missions, consider PBMI as your sending agency. With the Lord’s help, we are committed to supporting you in a fruitful ministry of winning souls and establishing churches worldwide.

If your church is looking to strengthen its missions program—whether through a mission conference or special missions services—our missionaries and preachers are available and eager to assist.
